While my 2-year-old will consume anything he can catch, my 4-year-old is extremely picky about what enters his mouth. He exists on a carb-heavy diet that, with the exception of fruit, is primarily white in color. And he won't eat meat...except for chicken fingers. So last night we hit the Peking House.
In a nondescript strip mall in Willimantic, Peking House is nestled in between BJ's, a laundromat, and Ocean State Job Lot. The facade is uninviting, but it's worth entering. The restaurant is clean and the staff friendly, not to mention that the food is good.
This place has a buffet. Granted its not as big as, say, Royal Buffet, but it's smaller size means fresher food and a faster turnover of items. Plus you can get it to go! But we weren't here to stuff our faces...
The hostess seated us in a corner booth, and after briefly poring over the extensive menu, we ordered chicken fingers, egg rolls, and shrimp toast. And of course milk. While I somewhat expected our waitress to just pick our food items from the buffet table, I was pleasantly surprised that everything came out from the kitchen freshly fried.

One prerequisite to being considered a good Chinese restaurant is the quality of the egg rolls. And as far as Chinese eateries in the Windham area, Peking House doesn't disappoint! But most importantly for me, the Dudes were impressed as well, cleaning their plates (as well as the bowl of dipping sauce).
